The other day we had a clog in the bath tub. With four females, there’s a lot of hair! Did I go buy some expensive de-clogging tool or drain cleaner, no, I went for the ever handy and always helpful wire hanger. It did the trick!
When we were growing up the wire hanger was not only for hanging clothes. It was good for unclogging sinks and toilets. My mom used to wave it around, when a chancla or the pink avon brush wasn’t available, to keep us in line. Let’s not forget it made a pretty good antenna for the tv or the car. The great thing about it is you can shape it easily to however you need it!
I would also like to give props to the Orkia (?) (clothes pin) not just for hanging clothes. It kept our chips and crackers (and anything else in bags or pouches) fresh - when we could afford them and had left overs. It was a good adjuster for a big shirt, kept you from smelling things that no one should have to or kept you from tasting awful medicine. They were used for games – how many could you take off with only one hand. It also held your superhero cape together! 
They are right up there with duct tape, monkey blood, and vicks!
